FTC and a bunch of states are suing Uber over Uber One

Just saw this. FTC plus 21 states are suing Uber over Uber One billing and cancellation practices. Looks like the case started earlier this year but more states just joined.


I mostly use Uber for food pickup, not rides, so I haven’t personally felt the worst of it. Also doesn’t seem like this lawsuit really tackles the thing people complain about here all the time, where Uber One users somehow get quoted higher prices for the same ride.


Still curious where this goes. Feels like one of those cases where everyone eventually gets a few dollars and Uber tweaks the fine print. But clearly enough people were pissed that regulators stepped in.
