I recently flew from Istanbul to JFK and had a very frustrating experience from start to finish.
I had originally selected and paid extra for a specific seat, but after boarding I discovered the TV screen was not working and the charging port was also broken. I informed a flight attendant, who moved me to another seat.
The passenger next to me immediately became confrontational and claimed she had paid for the entire row, although the flight attendant later clarified that this was not true. During the flight she repeatedly put her shoes and feet into my space and onto my legs. I asked multiple times for it to stop, but it continued.
I eventually asked the crew to intervene. A flight attendant spoke with her, but since there were no alternative seats available, I was told there was nowhere else to move. I ended up putting a pillow between us just to create some separation.
After landing, I submitted a complaint to Turkish Airlines. What made the situation more frustrating was that it took several back-and-forth responses before they fully understood the issue, and the final response basically stated that future issues should be reported to the crew because they had no official record of the incident.
I left the whole experience feeling extremely disappointed with both the onboard situation and the follow-up handling afterward.
