I am curious if anyone else finds Air France’s window shade policy a bit excessive on long haul flights.
On several flights, the crew required passengers to keep window shades closed throughout the night and even into the morning when it was already daylight outside. It felt less like a recommendation and more like a strict rule.
In comparison, airlines like KLM and many others I have flown with usually suggest dimming the cabin during rest periods, but they do not enforce it to this extent.
At this point, I sometimes choose seats away from the window just to avoid the frustration of not being able to control it during a long flight.
Is there an official reason behind this policy, or is it just airline preference?
