I know Frontier gets dragged a lot, so I figured I’d share this.
We were coming back from a cruise in San Juan, PHL direct, Business Bundle both ways. Blizzard hits, flight gets canceled around midnight. Total chaos across the East Coast.
I had bought the $85 Disruption Assistance and honestly wasn’t sure if it was worth it. At 3am on a cruise ship trying to rebook while half asleep and slightly buzzed… not ideal.
DA offered a Spirit option but I didn’t trust that would operate either. East Coast was basically shut down. Since there were no same day or next day options, I took the refund.
What surprised me was they refunded the entire round trip. About $1085 back on my card within a day. Original Frontier booking just stayed as is and I rebooked a new one way home for Tuesday on my own.
Process was confusing in the moment, especially trying to figure out what was happening with the original ticket. But financially it worked out. We actually ended up spending less overall than the original booking.
For once, the add on insurance thing actually did what it said it would.
