It feels like Hawaiian Airlines has been experiencing a lot more delays since the Alaska Airlines takeover. The airline used to be known for being consistently on time, but that doesn’t seem to be the case anymore.
Recently, I had a flight from Las Vegas that was delayed by about 2.5 hours. After mentioning it at work, I found out a friend had a similar 2-hour delay on the same route. Another friend returning from Japan also experienced a delay of over 2 hours. My sister’s flight from Portland was delayed even more significantly, around 7.5 hours.
These repeated delays across different routes make it seem like operational reliability has worsened. It raises concerns about whether the change in management is affecting performance, maintenance, or scheduling efficiency.
There was hope locally that the Alaska Airlines acquisition would improve operations, but so far it feels like the situation has been getting worse. It remains to be seen how things will stabilize after the full transition.
