I’m flying American out of JFK to LAX on Monday at 9:30am and they’re offering a free flight change because of weather. I’d really prefer not to delay getting to LAX, but I also don’t mind waiting around at the airport if it’s just a matter of deicing and clearing runways.
What I’m unsure about is whether it’s smarter to proactively switch to a later flight, or stick with the original one and hope it eventually goes. I don’t want to end up with a cancellation after sitting at the airport for hours.
For anyone who’s dealt with JFK weather days like this, what usually works out better? Change it now or roll the dice and wait it out?
