Usually I connect through A at Frankfurt and it’s easy. Lounge, coffee, bathroom, straight to the next gate.
This time my connection was B03. Thought it was a typo at first. Went from A34 down the stairs, through the tunnel, waited forever for the elevator back up, and ended up in the Schengen part of B.
Completely different vibe. Basically one tiny shop, one restroom for everyone, and after boarding you stand in a stairwell waiting for a bus. Then you walk along this narrow fenced path behind the building just to get to the bus, which takes its time driving out to a remote stand.
To be fair, both flights were on time. And the bus ride did pass a couple 747s and even the anniversary 787, so that was cool.
Still, if I can avoid that section of FRA in the future, I probably will.
