Just completed a stay at Four Seasons Puerto Rico. We’ve previously stayed at Costa Rica (5 nights), Maui (5 nights), Philadelphia (1 night), and Orlando (1 night), never paying over $1700 per night. Booking through a preferred partner gave us discounts and hotel credits, which was helpful. Overall, this stay was a solid A+ for service, rooms, and location.
beach: the shoreline is stunning, with wide soft sand stretching nearly 2 miles, backed by rainforest scenery and cloud-covered mountains. However, swimming is generally not recommended due to unpredictable currents and varying depths. Locals also confirmed it is rarely suitable for swimming.
resort and service: overall very good and close to Four Seasons standards, around an A minus. Staff were accommodating and professional. Highlights included excellent service from staff members like Jose. Minor drawbacks included breakfast staff being slightly less conversational, pool service being somewhat slow, and limited visibility of resort activities.
amenities: the boathouse and lake area are enjoyable, offering kayaking, inflatable activities, fishing, and efoil experiences. Teenagers especially enjoyed these activities. Resort activities could be better promoted at check-in or throughout the property.
pool: the pool uses a salinated system instead of traditional chlorine, which is pleasant. The atmosphere included a mix of families, especially during spring break. Guests also have access to nearby Bahia Beach Residences, which include additional facilities.
food: consistently strong. Paros offered quality Mediterranean dishes with great views. Seagrapes provided excellent poolside dining for breakfast and dinner. The chocolate tart stood out as exceptional. Wood-fired pizzas, particularly the truffle arugula, were also very good.
room: we stayed in a garden deluxe room with a king bed. The layout includes a small entry space that makes it feel larger than standard rooms. It accommodated a family of four with a rollaway bed. The bathroom was excellent with double sinks and a quality shower and tub. Garden views were beautiful and immersive within the nature preserve, and the room remained quiet and comfortable.
location: the property is set away from Condado Beach but is close to Luquillo Beach, the rainforest, and activities such as ziplining and guided hikes. It is also accessible to Old San Juan and local dining with a short trip.
overall: Four Seasons Puerto Rico delivers a high quality tropical experience with excellent service, strong food, and beautiful surroundings. While there are areas for improvement such as activity promotion and minor service speed, the property has strong potential and already provides a premium stay.
