First solo international trip and I totally blew it. Booked a flight to Brazil with AA, then found out a visa’s required again for US citizens starting April 2025. I didn’t check because I thought the old rule still applied.
Scrambled to apply for an eVisa but I doubt it’ll be approved in time, and my ticket’s nonrefundable. So yeah $1200 gone. Hurts, but lesson learned: always recheck visa rules, even if you think you know them.
