Flying Blue upgrades seem to have stopped recently after years of frequent status upgrades

I’ve been a Air France–KLM Flying Blue Gold or mostly Platinum member for about 18 years (though not enough to qualify for Platinum for Life).

In the past, especially around 10 years ago, I used to get upgraded quite regularly on Air France flights. It was common enough that I would often end up in a higher cabin.

However, in recent years I’ve noticed a significant decline. Now upgrades basically never happen anymore, even on similar routes and status level.

Has anyone else with long-term Flying Blue status noticed the same change in upgrade frequency over time?
