I’m trying to understand how co-branded credit cards work, specifically with Flying Blue, and whether it’s worth applying.
If I use a Flying Blue credit card to book flights for family members but I’m not traveling with them, do I earn any bonus (accelerated) miles? Or would I only receive the standard points per dollar spent on the card?
For example, if I book four tickets (including myself) at $1,000 each on a SkyTeam flight under the same reservation and pay using the Flying Blue card, would I earn rewards based on the full $4,000 spend or just on my own ticket?
I understand that I won’t earn status miles for other passengers, but I’m unclear whether the credit card rewards apply to the total transaction or only partially.
Overall, I’m trying to figure out if these cards are mainly beneficial for solo travelers or if they also provide good value when booking for others.
