I had a really frustrating experience with FlixBus and I’m wondering if anyone has dealt with something similar.
I was scheduled to take a bus from Berlin to Paris departing at 8:55 PM. My friends and I arrived at the Berlin Central Bus Station about an hour early, and initially everything looked normal since the departure appeared on the station board.
Later, we received a text message from FlixBus saying the bus would be delayed by one hour. The confusing part was that the station display never updated, so we stayed waiting at the assigned platform.
After around 1 hour and 20 minutes of waiting, my friend checked the live tracking and realized the bus was already heading toward Paris without ever stopping at the departure station to pick up passengers.
Because my friends needed to be back in Paris for work the next day, we had no choice but to buy last-minute tickets on another bus for around €90.
I genuinely don’t understand how a bus can apparently depart without ever showing up at the station.
Has anyone experienced this before? Is it possible to get:
A refund for the missed trip
Compensation for the replacement tickets
Reimbursement through FlixBus customer service
Would appreciate any advice on the best way to escalate this
