Has this happened to anyone else?
I had a flight booked for a wedding and purposely chose the timing to make the rehearsal dinner. Two days before departure I checked my itinerary and saw I was now arriving 6 hours later.
Turns out Southwest had sent me a $30 flight credit offer to switch flights a few days earlier. Then two hours after that offer email, I got a confirmation saying I’d accepted the change.
Problem is, I hadn’t even opened the email until days later, after the offer had already expired.
Customer service insisted their system showed I clicked through and accepted it. But that’s multiple steps. There’s no way I accidentally did that when I hadn’t opened the email.
They wanted over $200 to move me back to my original flight. After a long call and a lot of explaining, a supervisor finally made a one time exception and put me back on the original flight without a fee.
I’m super grateful they fixed it, but the whole thing made me feel like I was losing my mind. Curious if this is some glitch or related to their recent system changes.
