I’m looking for advice on a disrupted Emirates itinerary.
We booked a trip from Dublin to Singapore via Dubai, traveling in premium economy on both legs. However, the Dubai–Singapore segment has now been cancelled.
The only alternatives offered so far are:
A 16-hour layover with a downgrade to economy
Paying around £4,000 extra to upgrade both legs to business class
Rebooking on the next day in economy and later requesting a refund for the fare difference
Premium economy is not available on the next available flight, and we cannot manage a long layover due to insurance limitations that require us to remain in transit.
We have also tried using miles to upgrade, but because the system now shows our booking as economy rather than premium economy, we cannot use miles for a two-cabin upgrade.
We are leaning toward accepting a next-day departure in economy and claiming compensation for the lost accommodation, but we are unsure if there are better options we should consider.
Any advice would be appreciated.
