I just received a message that our flights from Istanbul to Abuja and Luanda were canceled due to force majeure. When I checked which routes were being affected by the current conflict, it looked like most cancellations were focused on Middle East destinations, not Africa, so this caught me off guard.
I originally booked using United miles and need to be in Luanda within the next two weeks, so timing is tight. The only alternative I’m seeing right now is award availability on Ethiopian Airlines, which works but is not my preferred option.
I also cannot find any availability for Turkish Airlines on the United booking platform anymore, which makes me wonder if they have pulled inventory or canceled more flights than what is publicly visible.
Has anyone else experienced similar cancellations or noticed missing availability with Turkish Airlines recently?
