I’ve got a mac nut allergy and usually handle it quietly meds, EpiPen, all that. But on my LAX–HNL flight (HA809), the crew handed out cookies during descent and didn’t say what kind. When I asked if they had nuts, the attendant snapped that it was “just chocolate chip.”
Didn’t trust it, so I checked the wrapper, macadamia nuts were the first ingredient. Honestly a bit scary that she didn’t know (or care) what was being served. Not looking for special treatment, but awareness would go a long way.
