Flea-Borne Typhus Outbreak in Long Beach, Here’s What You Need to Know

Just saw that Long Beach is reporting a spike in flea-borne typhus cases, 20 so far this year and climbing fast. It's spread by infected fleas from animals like rats, opossums, and even stray cats. If you're in SoCal and spending time outdoors, especially near overgrown areas or parks, keep your pets treated for fleas and be mindful of wild animals.

I was in Long Beach a few weeks ago for a beach day and now I’m double-checking everything! Has anyone local experienced this outbreak or seen more city notices around? I wonder how it’s being handled on the ground. Stay safe, especially during these warm months when flea activity spikes.
