First time staying in a hostel in London… mixed dorm or private?

Got a few days off in June and thinking of doing a solo trip to London. Usually stay in hotels, but want to try a hostel this time.

Looking at Onefam in Notting Hill mainly because it seems social and they do nights out, which sounds fun.

Only thing is they’ve got mixed dorms or private rooms. I’d normally go for female-only, so not sure how I feel about mixed dorms, especially if it ends up being mostly guys.

For anyone who’s stayed there (or similar hostels in London), how was the vibe? Easy to meet other girls or more mixed?
