My wife and I are flying Australia → Doha → Madrid for our first Europe trip. When we booked, we had a comfortable 2 hr 10 min layover in Doha, but Qatar just moved our connecting flight 55 minutes earlier, leaving us with only 1 hr 15 min to make the connection.
We’ve never transited Doha before, and this feels really tight especially if disembarkation is slow or our inbound flight is even slightly delayed. Qatar support told us 45 minutes is the minimum connection time, so they won’t rebook us because the schedule change is under 1 hour.
For anyone familiar with DOH or Qatar Airways connections:
• Is 75 minutes actually realistic for first-time travelers?
• How efficient is the transit and security process?
• Should we push Qatar harder for alternatives, or are we stressing unnecessarily?
Any advice from people who’ve done this route would be appreciated.
