Just flew Cathay business for the first time, 4 flights with a transit in HKG.
Lounges in Hong Kong were big and nicely designed, but the staff felt a bit cold. Not rude exactly, just not very welcoming. Felt like I was inconveniencing them.
One segment had the older recliner style seats with basically zero privacy and a monitor that barely worked. That was disappointing for business class. The A350 setup with the newer IFE was much better though.
Also can’t tell if it was just bad luck, but I felt like service was noticeably warmer toward some other passengers than toward me. Maybe I’m overthinking it, but it stood out enough that I left feeling unsure.
Is this just inconsistent service depending on aircraft and crew? Or has Cathay changed a lot over the years?
