Flew Spirit for the first time yesterday from MIA to ORD after a cruise and everything went way smoother than I expected.
On time departure, landed about 20 minutes early, only waited a few minutes for a gate. I checked two bags for free thanks to the credit card and was able to self tag and drop them more than four hours before the flight, which was actually pretty convenient.
Paid for an exit row window on the A321 and as a tall guy, the legroom was unreal. Easily over six feet of space. Flight attendants were friendly, flight was smooth, and both bags showed up at baggage claim with no drama.
I went in knowing exactly what Spirit is and isn’t, and for what I paid, I got exactly what I expected. I know the horror stories are out there, but I just wanted to share a genuinely good experience for once.
