After leaving my corporate job, I decided to stop paying the premium for Delta Air Lines and tried Frontier Airlines for a direct ATL to LAS flight.
The ticket was about 3 times cheaper than Delta.
Overall impressions:
Crew was great, young and enthusiastic
Seats were fine for me since I am not very tall, so reduced pitch was not a big issue
Lack of Wi-Fi felt strange, would prefer even a paid option
Paid catering was decent, especially drinks
Passenger mix was varied, but not a negative experience
Aircraft was an Airbus A321neo, which felt more modern compared to older planes sometimes used on the same route.
I also signed up for Discount Den since the savings seem to justify it. I understand the trade-offs like limited flexibility, fewer backup options, and potential disruptions, but for nonstop routes it seems like good value.
Curious how others compare Frontier vs legacy carriers for similar routes.
