First time flying, confusion about flight and connection times across time zones

Hi everyone, this is my first time flying and I feel prepared for most things, but I have one concern I am not fully clear about.

I have connecting flights through Istanbul on both my outbound trip to Italy and my return trip. I want to understand how the times on my itinerary work.

Are the departure and arrival times always shown in the local time of each airport? For example, if my flight from Italy shows a departure time of 2:05 PM, does that mean it is 2:05 PM in Italy local time rather than my original time zone (CST)?

I am trying to make sure I understand this correctly so I do not accidentally miss any connecting flights due to confusion with time zones. Any clarification or advice would be appreciated.
