Hi everyone! My husband and I are going on our first cruise this Saturday, and I want to make sure we’re fully prepared without overpacking or forgetting anything important.
We’ll be sailing on the Royal Princess from Los Angeles to Mexico (April 18–25) and have the Plus package.
We’re based near Sacramento and planning to drive down early Saturday morning, leaving around 3am. The drive usually takes between 6.5 to 8 hours, so we expect to arrive in San Pedro by around 11am at the latest. I’m wondering if this timing is risky or if it should be manageable.
In terms of packing, we’ve included essentials, some formal outfits for dress-up nights, and swimwear items like hats, water shoes, cover-ups, and rash guards. We’ve also prepared motion sickness remedies like non-drowsy Dramamine and patches, along with casual, comfortable clothing.
I also want to confirm what we’re allowed to bring onboard. Aside from alcohol and soda restrictions, are there limits on items like full-size sunscreen, shampoo, or other toiletries? Is there any restriction on the number or size of luggage?
Any last-minute tips or advice would be really helpful!
