After 15+ online attempts and like eight calls to the US Exec Club line, we finally snagged an outbound London–Tokyo for Nov ’26 using the BA companion voucher. Ended up with 110k Avios + £604 for two adults and an infant. Honestly thought we’d never catch this route, Tokyo is like the final boss of Avios redemptions.
Last night was supposed to be our “final try” before giving up and waiting for those extra reward seats they release closer in. Funny enough, that’s actually a pretty good strategy… way less crowded than the midnight 355-day race. SeatSpy was a lifesaver too.
Some quick things that helped us:
• have everything pre-saved (address, card, companion, infant)
• load the Avios booking page a couple mins before midnight
• be FAST, like 1 minute fast
• phone lines are pure luck, but calling Sun/Mon seemed easiest
Still buzzing, now we just need to sort the return in Club World. Fingers crossed that direction will be easier.
