Was anyone else on the subway when that 3.0 quake hit last night? I was headed home on the E line when suddenly the car made this weird jerk not the usual stop-start bounce. For a split second, I thought the train had hit something or the tunnel had a glitch. Only later did I see the alerts that it was an earthquake centered in NJ.
Felt minor, but enough to get everyone looking around like, Did that just happen? We’re so used to crowded, noisy rides that even a small quake gets lost in the shuffle. But it definitely made me rethink how unpredictable life in the city can be even underground. Anyone else feel it during their commute or did your building give you the real jolt?
