I hate admitting this, but I’m feeling pretty worn down. I’m in Morocco right now and it really feels like I’m just seen as money, not a person. Every interaction has a price tag. Taxis, restaurants, hosts, even ATMs nickel and dime you nonstop. What looks like kindness almost always turns into a transaction.
I’m on constant alert mode trying to spot the next scam, and that’s exhausting. It makes it hard to relax or enjoy the place. I get why it happens and I don’t blame people for trying to make a living, but it still sucks to feel like you can never let your guard down. At this point I’m honestly just counting the days until I leave
