Had a weird thing happen while booking a JetBlue flight with a friend. We were both sitting together booking the same flight at the same time, just using our own credit cards.
The fare was showing $136 for both of us. I completed my booking, but when my friend tried to check out she got an error and it kicked her back to the start. When she searched again the same seat was now $305.
What’s strange is that most of the seats on the plane still show as available, so it doesn’t seem like the flight suddenly filled up.
Is this just how airline pricing works where there might only be one seat left at the cheaper fare? Or did the system somehow bump the price because of the searches?
