FAA cracking down on evac carry-on behavior

Saw this article calling out AA passengers after a couple of incidents where people grabbed bags during evacuations. FAA just put out new guidance telling airlines to make it crystal clear, leave everything behind.

Honestly, I’ve watched people drag full-size roller bags off in drills and videos, and it makes sense why the FAA is stepping in. Bags block aisles, slow people down, and can even damage slides. Japan Airlines and Air Busan both had real emergencies this year where everyone left their bags, and it saved lives.

I get that nobody wants to abandon valuables, but in a smoke-filled cabin, seconds matter. Will be interesting to see how crews and airlines actually enforce this going forward.
