Had a UA regional flight last week and the FA was giving some pretty odd instructions. In first, she told anyone with a detachable tablet keyboard that it had to go in the overhead bin. Guy in front of me asked why, and she just said “that’s the rule.” He tried putting it in a bag under the seat, but she insisted it was a weight issue… the thing was like 8–10 ounces.
Later she told two people behind me to put their shoes on because “all passengers must keep shoes on.”
Is any of this an actual policy, or was she just having a day?
