I booked flights through Princess Cruises EZ Air because the price was the same as booking directly and it included protection against delays causing us to miss the cruise. However, the experience has been frustrating.
I mainly wanted to reserve seats so I could sit next to my husband, since he is tall and I don’t mind giving him extra space. When I tried to select seats, I was told by Princess to contact the airline, but the airline told me they could not help because the booking was made through a travel agent.
After multiple calls, I was told the flight was not yet ticketed and to wait. Later, when I tried again, I could select seats but only by paying around $160 just for seat selection.
Princess support said it is the airline’s policy and they cannot do anything. I feel this was not clearly explained at booking, especially since these are standard economy seats.
On top of that, we were told pre-cruise hotel options were included, but they also come with additional costs depending on the hotel chosen.
Overall, this has felt like a lot of unexpected extra charges and confusion, and I am quite frustrated with the process.
