Is this how Lufthansa pricing is supposed to work now?
On a Buenos Aires to Frankfurt to Los Cabos itinerary operated by Lufthansa, I tried adding two 23 kg checked bags. The initial breakdown showed €180 for the first bag and €210 for the second, but at the final checkout stage the total increased to €730 for both.
I saw a similar issue when trying to upgrade from economy to business. The app initially showed around €1490, but the final amount charged ended up being closer to €2500.
This feels like a lack of transparent pricing during the booking flow. Shouldn’t this be regulated under EU consumer protection rules or fare transparency standards?
I am now considering switching to KLM for future trips since their pricing appears more consistent and straightforward.
