I recently visited Leesburg, Florida, not realizing it had just been crowned the fastest-growing retirement community in the U.S. This charming spot, about 45 miles northwest of Orlando, really surprised me. The lake views are gorgeous, and the Venetian Gardens park is perfect for a peaceful stroll. Downtown feels like stepping back in time with its quaint shops, cozy cafés, and friendly locals. I can see why retirees are flocking here it’s relaxed, scenic, and still has a lively vibe.
I was lucky to be there during Bikefest, which transforms the town into the world’s largest three-day motorcycle rally. Between the fishing on the lakes, the events, and the warm Florida weather, Leesburg has a lot going for it beyond its popularity with retirees. Has anyone here spent more time in Leesburg or explored its hidden gems?
