I booked a roundtrip flight through Expedia for about $1,000. Outbound flight was already flown with no issues. Original return was Dec 22.
I needed to change the return, so I did it through Expedia and approved the fare difference. New return date was Jan 15. Expedia confirmed it, but my card was never charged. Within 24 hours I got an email saying they couldn’t issue the ticket with Turkish Airlines and that I currently had no return flight.
I called Expedia and the agent apologized and rebooked me again, this time for Jan 18. Same thing happened. Confirmation email came through, then another email saying the airline couldn’t issue the ticket.
Turkish Airlines says they can’t do anything since the booking is through Expedia. Expedia says the ticket was never issued. But I already paid for a roundtrip originally, and now I’m stuck without a return flight at all.
I wasn’t charged for the change fees, but that doesn’t help much when I have no ticket home. What are my options here? Chargeback? DOT complaint? Has anyone actually gotten Expedia to fix something like this?
