Hello everyone. My return flight from Europe to the United States was cancelled about an hour before departure, and I was told the reason was low passenger demand or underbooking.
From what I understand, situations like this may qualify for compensation under EU passenger rights rules, so I contacted the airline and had a request submitted. However, about a week later I received notice that the request had been denied.
I also had additional expenses because of the cancellation and was hoping to recover those costs as well. I’m unsure what steps to take next and would appreciate advice from anyone who has dealt with a similar situation.
