Etihad’s “free stopover” feels like a scam

Booked a trip to Bangkok with a long Abu Dhabi layover just to use the stopover offer they plaster all over the booking flow. Showed it to me the whole way through checkout. But when I went to book the hotel, suddenly I “don’t qualify” under 24 hours and blackout date. None of that was shown when I booked. Support chat just copy-pasted T&Cs, emails ignored, and the only advice was “leave feedback after your flight.”
