My parents booked Etihad tickets back in March 2025 for a May 24, 2025 departure. They couldn’t travel because their Hajj visa didn’t come through, so the flight got rebooked to Dec 18 instead.
Now it looks like they’ll finally get the visa and plan to travel May 19, 2026, which puts them past Etihad’s one year reissuance limit from the original ticket date.
Trying to figure out if there’s any way to avoid losing the value of the tickets entirely. Has anyone had luck getting exceptions in situations like this, especially for visa related issues? Or are we basically stuck unless Etihad makes a goodwill exception?
