Been following the situation with Etihad and the Middle East disruptions and it’s turning into a frustrating mess.
From what I’m seeing, Etihad has suspended a number of flights to and from Abu Dhabi, but some passengers are still struggling to get clear refund options. Instead, they’re being pushed toward rebooking or credits even though the schedule and operations still seem uncertain.
Some people are arguing that if the airline itself says it can’t guarantee the schedule or safety conditions, then passengers should be able to cancel and get a refund rather than being stuck waiting or forced to rebook.
It seems especially stressful for people with big trips coming up (honeymoons, long-haul travel, etc.) who don’t want to gamble on whether their flight will actually operate.
Curious what others are experiencing right now. Are people actually getting cash refunds, or mostly just credits and rebooking options?
