Etihad delay, am I owed compensation?

Supposed to fly Manila–Manchester today but the flight was delayed almost 8 hours, which made us miss our connection. Got rebooked, but now the total delay is about 12 hours. Etihad told me to just fill out a form after the flight. Anyone know if compensation applies here?
