Trying to figure out what’s going on here. I got an ESTA last September with my EU passport and traveled to the US twice with it. First trip was three weeks in New York, then I went home, then came back in December for a week in Miami. Both were straight tourism and I left exactly when I said I would.
When I entered Miami I did get pulled aside briefly and asked some questions about my job and who I was visiting, but they let me in without issues.
Today I got an email from DHS saying my ESTA status was “changed.” Checked the application and now it says I’m no longer authorized to travel to the US.
I’m honestly confused. No overstays, no work, no criminal or political stuff, nothing unusual at all. I didn’t even realize ESTAs could just get cancelled like this.
Has this happened to anyone else recently or does anyone know what usually triggers this?
