Looking for some perspective from people who cross Canada US frequently.
A few days ago I tried to enter the US by land carrying commercial promo samples to drop at a UPS store in Blaine. I declared everything and had documents, but I used the NEXUS lane.
I was sent to secondary. Officer told me commercial goods should go through cargo processing and that I shouldn’t have used the NEXUS lane. My entry was denied that day, and my NEXUS was revoked the next day.
I wasn’t fined. I was given a passenger processing commercial merchandise refusal form and sent back to Canada.
I have a flight to the US in a few weeks for a trade show, no goods this time.
For anyone who’s dealt with something similar, how is this usually viewed at future entries? Am I likely to face extra scrutiny every time now, or is this more of a one time issue tied to misuse of the NEXUS lane?
Appreciate any insight.
