This feels like another small cut that adds up. Emirates changed the rules again for mileage upgrades to business. You still get the two carry ons, but now there’s no extra checked baggage allowance when you upgrade with miles.
On paper it sounds minor, but this is exactly how EK keeps squeezing value out of Skywards. Tiny changes, one at a time, until the upgrade just isn’t what it used to be. Business class without the proper baggage feels like a downgrade of the upgrade.
Not shocking, just disappointing. Hard not to see this as a long term strategy to slowly make miles less useful without a big announcement.
