I just got home after the 14-hour DXB → SYD Emirates First Class flight and it honestly still feels unreal.
I started at the Concourse A lounge with some sushi, fruit, and coffee, but I didn’t eat much because I was too excited for the flight.
Alcohol-wise, I only had Dom Pérignon and their dessert wine. The dessert wine was honestly incredible. I also asked for Dom Rosé but it wasn’t available.
I had caviar three times and still wish I had asked for more. It was easily the highlight of the food experience.
For meals, I started with the Asian chicken soup which was really comforting. The main was spicy soft shell crab, which was okay but a bit heavy for me. After that I mostly just stuck to caviar and fruit, since I don’t eat red meat or cheese and I’m not big on desserts.
I got the men’s pyjama set in a tote bag, and I also asked about a women’s set for my mum and somehow ended up with two tote bags. I also took all the snacks, menu book, notebook, and pen.
The seat itself wasn’t my favorite part. The mattress topper doesn’t stay in place like Business Class, and the armrest controls are awkward to reach when fully flat. You can use the tablet, but I don’t like the screen light in my eyes when I wake up. Surprisingly, I still think I prefer the Business Class seat for overall comfort and usability.
I also didn’t realize until landing that the seat had a massage function.
Crew were absolutely perfect, easily 10/10.
The shower was short at 5 minutes but more than enough.
One downside was that the headphones had a constant buzzing/static noise, even when I switched seats.
Would I do First Class again? Absolutely, but only if I had extra money to spend.
