I have a 4 night stay starting tomorrow at a Hampton Inn in New York, but my travel plans changed and I now need to leave a day early.
I called the front desk and they told me there would be a penalty of one full night for checking out early. However, when I looked at the hotel’s policy on their website, it clearly says the early checkout fee is $0.
I mentioned that to the person on the phone, but they still said the penalty applies. I’ve since emailed the hotel asking for clarification and requested that a manager review it.
Has anyone dealt with something like this before? If the website says the early checkout fee is $0, shouldn’t the hotel have to honor that?
