My Wizz flight from DXB to Budapest got diverted to Athens. Called them and they said they won’t provide transportation and I should just file a claim after landing.
That doesn’t really help if I end up stranded in Greece with no clear way to Budapest.
I’m honestly considering not taking the flight if it’s only going to Athens with no onward transport arranged. I don’t want to start paying out of pocket for last minute flights and then fight for reimbursement later.
In this situation:
Can I refuse and get a full refund?
Are they supposed to re route me to Budapest at no extra cost?
Is filing a claim after the fact the only option?
Also curious if this kind of diversion is likely weather or something else.
Has anyone dealt with this before with Wizz?
