I cannot stand hotels that have these mini bars. The first thing I do when I arrive is take everything out and put it in a drawer because I do not want to be tempted by overpriced snacks like a low quality chocolate bar for $14.
Half the time I end up getting charged for something even when I did not consume it, and then I have to spend time calling the hotel to get the charges removed.
This was at a Westin in the Dallas area. With so many hotels available, I do not think I will stay at this property again. I also wonder how profitable these mini bars really are after accounting for all the mistaken charges and the time staff spend fixing billing issues.
The worst is when the fridge is completely sensor based and packed with items that you have to remove just to use it.
