Reading through this retrospective on Disneyland’s 70 years hit me with way more nostalgia than I expected. It’s wild how the place has reinvented itself so many times from the original Fantasyland and the rise of animatronics, to Space Mountain and Star Tours, and now full-blown Star Wars lands and Avengers campuses. I grew up during the coaster era and still remember my first ride on Big Thunder like it was yesterday.
I don’t think there’s a single best era, but man, that sweet spot between the late '80s and early 2000s back when Fantasmic! felt huge, Indiana Jones blew everyone's minds, and California Adventure was still trying to find itself that was magic.
Curious what other longtime visitors think: if you could time travel to any version of Disneyland, when would you go?
