This one caught me off guard.
Apparently on Oasis there was a shipwide call at like 4am asking for blood donors. They were near Cuba and couldn’t evacuate, so they had to handle it onboard.
I always thought ship medical centers were more like urgent care, not something that could actually do transfusions. Kind of wild realizing they’re equipped for that.
Also strange detail that only certain people could donate, including only men? Didn’t expect that.
Really puts into perspective how serious things can get out there, especially on day 1 of a cruise.
