Did all-inclusive prices in Mexico just explode this year?

You’re not imagining it. Prices look way higher than this time last year.

Seeing something like Secrets Akumal jump from around $500 a night to $1500 for the same late March window is wild, but it lines up with what I’ve been seeing too. March is peak spring break season, flights and resorts both know demand is basically guaranteed, and they’re pricing like it.

A lot of resorts also seem to be leaning hard into “luxury” positioning now. Same property, same rooms, but suddenly everything is branded as premium and priced that way. Add in inflation, higher staffing costs, and people still spending big on post-COVID travel, and it stacks up fast.

Prices might dip a bit if demand softens, but for March in Mexico I wouldn’t expect them to fall anywhere near last year’s numbers. Switching resorts, dates, or even pushing to late April can make a huge difference.

It hurts, but $500ish a night for late March at a top-tier AI feels like a unicorn now.
