When I first heard Diana Ross was going to be the godmother of Royal Caribbean’s new Star of the Seas, I booked the showcase cruise out of Port Canaveral without thinking twice. It felt like a once-in-a-lifetime moment a legendary singer blessing a brand-new ship before launching into her Beautiful Love US tour. But now that she’s backed out due to unforeseen circumstances, I’ve decided to skip it too.
Honestly, her appearance was the big draw for me. I love cruising, but between this cancellation and the recent incident on the waterslide on Icon of the Seas, I’ve lost a bit of confidence. I’ll wait for the dust to settle before hopping on a new Royal Caribbean launch.
